Yuanye Ma Commits to Wash U

Congratulations to Yuanye Ma for committing to Washington University in St. Louis for his collegiate tennis career. As one of the top D3 schools in the country with an elite academic program, Yuanye has earned his way to the next level where he will be a freshman in the Fall. Pure Pace Tennis Academy went to the Miami Open to watch and study the world's best players. Watching Alcaraz and Felix practice, Korda played lights out to take down Alcaraz, and watching Ethan Quinn battle eventual finalist Lehecka. Quinn opposed Pure Pace Alumni back in his Norcal days playing 12 and 14's. We split sets with him a couple of times in big tournaments but never took him down. Congratulations to Karthik Thumu for a great tournament at Tennis Paradise in Indian Wells for the Easter Bowl, one of the country's most prestigious junior tournaments. We are excited for a fun summer of tennis for the kids. We will be offering camps, clinics, and lessons throughout the summer from 6/8 - 7/23. 6 weeks we will offer a junior tennis and swim camp and the remainder of the summer we will offer clinics/lessons daily. Draws out! 1st Annual Pure Pace Tennis Academy Invitational has begun and our 1st match came down to a single point. This invite only Flex Tennis Tournament is exclusively for players in the Pure Pace Tennis program and will be played throughout the Spring. Another great year of training and competing for Winter Nationals at USTA National Campus in Orlando. Oct 25′ Junior Tournament at USTA Campus

Pure Pace Tennis brought 15 junior players to USTA's National Campus in Orlando, FL. The players were ages 7 - 14 with most players competing in their 1st tournament, or were young for their age group. As a whole we played 60 matches, got 23 wins, one 1st place finish, and two 2nd place finishes. Yuanye Ma and Henry Wilson trained at Pure Pace Tennis for a week before we all went to Delray Beach for Clay Court Nationals where the top 200 16's and 18's boys battled it out. After good preparation and acclimation to the rough conditions of Florida in the summer both of them earned 2 gutsy wins against some of the top players in the country and had their best runs at L1's yet. After training hard in preparation at Pure Pace Academy for 3 days, and then competing for 7 days straight, Ethan Chung takes 4th place playing amazing tennis against some of the best players in the world for their age. Evan Burnett becomes the 1st player to train at Pure Pace Tennis Academy and go on to earn a professional ranking. His outstanding performance led to a straight sets victory over then ranked #429 in the world. Just the beginning for Evan's journey on tour.

Another incredible year at Clay Court Nationals. The level of heart and soul poured out onto those clay courts is unbelievable. We had a great pre tournament training block with Team Norcal (Evan Burnett, Cooper Han, Ethan Chung, Krish Gupta, Yuanye Ma). After 8 days of battling in the Florida heat Cooper Han took 4th place 16s Singles and with his doubles partner Ethan Chung won 3rd place 16s Doubles. These guys went through a lot and really earned their 1st balls!

A great 1st L1 for Pure Pace after the move to Florida. We started with some solid pre tournament training with Evan Burnett at our new homebase in Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. We then met up with his doubles partner Krish Gupta and friend Cooper Han in Boca. Evan got to the rnd of 16 in 16s singles and won the Gold Ball in 16s doubles with Krish. We supported and cheered on Cooper as he got to the quarter finals and then 2nd place consolation in 16s singles. Go Team Norcal!
