Teaching Pro

Description: Teaching professionals who can currently play at UTR 10+ for men and 7+ for women. Must enjoy communicating with and coaching players of all ages starting as young as 4yo. Coaches will be trained on the current teaching system and are expected to synchronize with and follow the lead of the Tennis Director. Teaching pros will work clinics as either the lead coaches or assistant when the Director is leading.

Hours: Monday – Saturday: 60–120 hours/month for all clinics/lessons. If working the full month, the average hours will be 80–100 per month. Occasionally, clinic/lesson hours will exceed 25 hours/week, but not surpass 30 hours/week, and all coaches will be scheduled for an average of 25 hours/week. Hours are lighter some weeks due to weather or heavier during training camps. Always arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes late.

Availability: Monday – Saturday year-round with sick days as needed and up to 8 weeks off for unpaid vacation. At least 4 weekends per year available for tournament coaching.

Wages: Starting at $40-50/hr based on 1099/w2 and experience. Annual raise of $5/hr. 20% profit sharing when the program is profitable. 85% Tournament profit. Starting at about $50k per year, the annual wages are expected to grow to $100k+ within 2 years or less.

Tournaments: Organize and direct 10 UTR tournaments per year.

Off-court: Occasional administrative, player development, and scholarship meetings.

Maintenance: Help keep facility nice. Blow leaves, brush courts/lines, as needed. If you are the lead coach for a lesson or clinic, arrive 15 minutes early to prepare the court.

Assistant Teaching Pro

Description: Teaching professionals who currently play at UTR 6+ for men and 4+ for women. Must enjoy communicating with and coaching players of all ages starting as young as 4yo. Coach will be trained on the current teaching system and is expected to synchronize with the Tennis Director and Teaching Pros.

Hours: Hours fluctuate based on the number of players in clinics and lesson demand. Maximum of 25 hours/week. Most hours are Monday through Friday in the PM’s and Saturday AM’s. Always arrive 5 min early and stay 5 min late.

Availability: No requirements, the more available you are, the more hours you will get.

Wages: $30–$40/hour, based on 1099/W2 status and experience. Consistent assistant coaches receive an annual raise of $5/hour, up to a maximum of $40/hour. When Teaching Pro positions are available, Assistant Coaches will have priority when applying.
